How it works

Get NTA NEET–compliant documents in four simple steps.

1

Choose document

Select Passport Photo, Postcard Photo, Signature, or Thumb Impression. NTA NEET specs load automatically for each type.

2

Upload your image

Click or drag-and-drop your JPG. All processing is instant and entirely in your browser - nothing is sent to NTA or any server.

3

Apply preset & compress

Click a Quick Preset to snap to the recommended pixel size. Set a target KB to auto-compress within NTA's 10–200 KB window.

4

Check & download

Confirm compliance checks are green, download, and upload to neet.nta.nic.in. Name the file per NTA's "AB_Photo" convention.

Why use PortImg NEET Resizer?

Built for neet.nta.nic.in portal requirements - covers all 4 document types.

All 4 NEET document types

Passport photo, postcard photo (4"×6"), signature, and thumb impression - one tool handles every NTA NEET document type.

Live NTA compliance check

Real-time badges verify dimensions and KB range per NTA specs for each document type before you download.

Client-side only

Every operation runs in your browser. Your photo, signature, and thumb impression never leave your device - not even temporarily.

Auto KB targeting

Enter 80 KB and the tool binary-searches JPEG quality to hit the exact target - perfect for the wide 10–200 KB NTA window.

White background fill

Canvas always fills white before drawing - critical since NTA auto-rejects coloured backgrounds, including common blue studio backgrounds.

NTA file naming guide

In-tool reminder shows the "AB_Photo.jpg" naming convention NTA recommends to avoid portal-level rejections.

Frequently asked questions

Official answers to the most common NEET photo upload questions.

Why NEET applications get rejected for photos

NTA NEET portal runs automated image validation on every uploaded document. The most common rejection causes are: file size outside the 10–200 KB range (files under 10 KB are rejected as 'too small or blank'), coloured background (blue studio passport backgrounds trigger rejection), face covering less than 80% of the frame, missing name and date printed at the bottom, and use of Polaroid or selfie photographs. An NTA-specific photo resizer that enforces the 10–200 KB window and fills a white background eliminates these rejections before you click submit.

NEET passport photo vs postcard photo - what is the difference?

NEET UG uniquely requires two separate photo uploads: a passport-size photo (2.5"×3.5") and a postcard-size photo (4"×6"). Both must meet the same quality and background rules. The passport photo is used for your online registration and admit card. The postcard photo is physically printed and pasted on your attendance sheet at the exam centre, and again during counselling - which is why NTA advises keeping 4–6 physical copies of the postcard photo. The postcard photo file (labelled 'AB_Postcardphoto.jpg') is the one most candidates forget or upload incorrectly.

How to compress your NEET photo to the right KB without losing face quality

The tricky part of the 10–200 KB NTA window is its lower bound: files that are too compressed (under 10 KB) are rejected as 'too small or blank.' Standard photo compression apps often compress aggressively, dropping below 10 KB. This tool uses a binary search across JPEG quality levels to land precisely in the 10–200 KB window, maintaining face sharpness at the highest quality that hits your target KB.

NEET photo size vs UPSC and SSC - key differences

UPSC CSE requires a square photo (550–1000px, 20–300 KB). SSC requires 275×354px (20–50 KB). NEET UG has the widest KB range (10–200 KB) and only specifies physical dimensions rather than exact pixels. NEET is also unique in requiring both a passport and a postcard photo, plus a signature (10–50 KB) and thumb impressions (10–200 KB) for both hands - making a dedicated NEET photo resizer more useful than a generic one.
