We aim to collect the absolute minimum data necessary to operate our service:

• Uploaded files (server-side tools): Some tools require server-side processing (e.g., OCR, PDF conversion). For these, your file is temporarily uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed, and automatically deleted within 1 hour. Files are never read, analysed, or used for any purpose beyond your requested operation.
• Client-side tools: Many tools (image resizing, cropping, format conversion) run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. For these, your file never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
• Email address: Only if you voluntarily contact us or subscribe to our newsletter. Used solely to respond to you or deliver updates.
• Technical data: Automatically collected by our analytics integrations: approximate country, browser type, device category, OS, and traffic source. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you individually.
• Android app permissions: Storage access is requested solely to read files you explicitly select for processing. We do not access contacts, location, microphone, or any permission beyond what is strictly necessary.

2 How We Use Your Information

We use data solely to operate and improve PortImg:

• Process your image and PDF conversion, resizing, editing, and related tasks — on the web and in the Android app.
• Respond to your support enquiries and feedback.
• Monitor aggregated usage trends and fix bugs to improve the user experience.
• Understand search performance via Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to make our tools more discoverable.
• Comply with legal obligations under applicable law.

3 Data Storage and Security

We take the security of your files seriously:

• All data in transit is protected with industry-standard TLS/HTTPS encryption.
• Files requiring server processing are stored in isolated, access-controlled environments.
• An automated cron job permanently deletes uploaded files within 1 hour of processing — no manual intervention required.
• We do not maintain a persistent database of uploaded files.
• On the Android app, files are processed locally where possible and are not retained after the session ends.

4 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

PortImg itself does not set first-party cookies for tracking or profiling. However, third-party services we use (Google Analytics, and in future, advertising networks) may set their own cookies. 5 Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or uploaded files with third parties, except in these limited circumstances:

• Legal obligations: To comply with lawful government, court, or regulatory requests.
• Infrastructure providers: Hosting, CDN, and cloud storage providers who are contractually bound to confidentiality and process only what is strictly necessary to deliver the service.
• Analytics platforms: Google (GA4, Search Console) and Microsoft (Bing Webmaster) receive anonymised, aggregated usage data as described above.

6 Children's Privacy

PortImg is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete it.

7 Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws, including:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
